Blog #7: BBG Chapter 7
Chapter 7 goes over how easy it is not to plagiarize material (material not accredited to the author). There are 3 ways to use someone else's thoughts and the best, in my opinion, is summarizing because it is not word for word. By doing this, you can still use the idea (s) of the original author, but add your own twist and words to the idea to combine them ( you still have to cite the original author of course). Other ways to use other people's ideas are by quoting and paraphrasing. Quoting allows someone to use a phrase (not usually a paragraph) word for word because it has an important significance. And paraphrasing allows the use of the same words, but the paragraphs are narrowed down to only a few sentences. Any idea has to give credit for the original author, if it isn't it is plagiarism.
